On October 25th, MBA students in Luxury Brand Management, Food & Wine visited two major wine houses in the Champagne-Ardenne region.
They started with a guided tour of Moët & Chandon domain, greeted by the Direction of this prestigious vineyard, globally reknowned for its champagnes. Founded in 1743, it now belongs to the luxury group LVMH, as well as Ruinart and Veuve Clicquot. After a tour of the mansion, students explored the cellar to discover the conditions and criteria for conservation of the famous champagne. The tour ended with a tasting of several vintages, with the Human Resources Director of Moët & Chandon.
The students then had lunch in the city center of Reims to discover the gastronomic specialties of the region, before going to Maison Lanson, known for its original methods of production. They learned the different stages of champagne production, including the disgorgement, the bottling and the labeling. A tasting of the best vintages of Maison Lanson then closed this circuit in Champagne.
Both informative and rewarding, this trip has unveiled the secrets of the most popular and most sold champagnes in the world!
