From 29th to 31st January, the students of the MSc Luxury Hospitality & Event Management from INSEEC French Alps visited two ski resorts to discover their various luxury and sports institutions.
At Pralognan La Vanoise, they were welcomed by the director of the Tourist Office who described the functions and services of a ski resort.
They then went to the prestigious resort of Courchevel, where they met Claude Faure, President of Société des 3 Vallées (administrator, amongst others, of the Courchevel ski resort) and the Director of the French Ski School. They also visited one of the palaces of Courchevel, Le Cheval Blanc and its famous restaurant where the multi-starred chef, Yannick Alléno, officiates.
The following day, the students spent the morning at the Chabichou (4 star hotel) where each of them was assigned to a different service:
- the kitchen of the gastronomic restaurant ‘Le Chabichou’ (two stars in the Michelin Guide)
- the kitchen of the bistro restaurant ‘ Le Chabotté’
- the gastronomic restaurant
- the bistro restaurant
- the front desk reception
- the reception – reservations desk
- the spa
The visit continued with a lunch at Le Chabotté, where they could appreciate the setting and the atmosphere, but also the restaurant’s ‘Bistro’ cuisine!
These 3 days ended up with a feedback and a report from the students to the management staff of the Chabichou ‘How does the Chabichou meet the needs of Courchevel luxury clientele?’[cycloneslider id= »courchevel_lhem_janvier2014″]
